Having trained together formerly, they were friends and Ortiz did not want to fight against him. Interim title fight between Randy Couture and Liddell was declared. Ortiz had already lost his belt to Couture at UFC 44 and at UFC 47; Ortiz fell by way of KO against Liddell. He once again lost to Liddell, this time by TKO, At UFC 66.Fighting to a controversial draw against the speedy handed Rashad Evans, and then losing a decision to newly crowned king Lyoto Machida, Ortiz finished off his UFC contract by going 0-1-1. Ortiz chose not to resign with UFC after the Machida fight.

Ortiz was expected to return in August of 2009 but thing were unclear. He on November 21, 2009, faced Forrest Griffin, and lost the bout in Decision (Split) with the record of 15-7-1.

All MMA and UFC fans will enjoy the great fights scheduled! This is THE UFC fight of the year.

Get ready to watch Lyoto Machida battle Mauricio Rua for a second time. This promises to be an exciting fight by 2 of the best Light Heavyweights in the sport. Machida offers a fighting style that noone can come close to while Rua hits hard and is ready for anything thrown his way. The first fight was close and went the full 5 rounds. Will it happen again or will w

In the Welterweight division, the guy everyone loves to hate, the bad boy of UFC, Josh Koscheck fights it out against Paul Daly. Koscheck, a fighter with much to prove, is always an entertaining fighter who gives 100% each and every time. That won’t stop Daly, who is an up and comer with something to prove.

The people’s favorite Heavyweight Kimbo Slice returns in UFC 113, this time taking on Matt Mitronie. Both Slice and Mitronie were featured in The Ultimate Fighter on Spike. Can Slice overcome his aches and pains to prove he has what it takes to be a champ? Or will the hard hitting Mitronie show the world he’s an MMA fighter and not a cry baby?
This promises to be one UFC fans will love! Don’t miss it!

Former NFL running back and Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker scored his debut MMA win over fellow fighter Greg Nagy last Saturday. Nagy sported a 1-1 career record but it was Walker who came away victorious this night and looked impressive.

The Walker-Nagy fight was part of a Strikeforce event that marked Walker’s first venture into a professional MMA cage. Walker came right out of the gate in the fight and was the more aggressive and had the moves of a seasoned veteran. Walker dominated the fight with Nagy trying to score some jabs but would always be thrown to the ground and Walker dominating. Walker would score the third round TKO.

Now word throughout the MMA and sports celebrity world is that Jose Canseco has issued a challenge to Herschel Walker. As folks might be aware, the controversial Canseco is also now an MMA fighter. Canseco made his debut in Japan last year when he was defeated by Japanese MMA star Hong Man Choi.

The exact statement that Canseco has been quoted as saying is ‘I guess I am going to have to show Herschel Walker who the bad boy of the sports industry is.’ It will be very interesting to see if a Walker-Canseco matchup will mature. All we can do is wait and find out.
