Junior Dos Santos is from Santa Catarina, Brazil and he is a professional mixed martial arts fighter and UFC lines favorite.

Tremendous kick boxing skills is what Dos Santos is known for and he has won 18 fights without any fuss.

Currently, the highest level of Ultimate Fighting in the world, commonly known as the UFC, is where Dos Santos takes part.

To this point in the league, Dos Santos has fought 13 fights in the UFC. So far, he has managed to win 12 in his 13 fights. 11 of those wins have come out to be very impressive.

Dos Santos knocked out 8 times, he had 3 submission victories and one win by decision, of his 12 wins.

In his career, his only loss came early. He dropped a fight in a rematch against a fighter that he had already beaten and he was fighting in a lesser league.

Dos Santos showed everyone what he was made of, to start out his UFC career. In Fabricio Werdum, he was scheduled to take on a much more highly rated fighter. He knocked out Werdum in the first round and he showed what he was made of.

Dos Santos looked incredible through the first 5 fights of his UFC career. To any fighter, his powerful hands and heavy blows make him a threat. By way of stoppage, he won each of his first 5 fights.

Dos Santos was able to go the distance against Roy Nelson in his most recent match, which was the first for any fighter in the UFC.

At the heavyweight title, at the heavyweight title. It is likely that he will take on the next champion of the division, although he is waiting for his turn.

When the management team meets with its co-promotional partner Strikeforce in the coming weeks to discuss a contract extension, M-1 Global will pursue a rematch between its top client, Fedor Emelianenko, and Fabricio Werdum.

Before the year’s end, Evgeni Kogan, Director of Operations for the Holland-based organization, said that M-1 Global hopes to co-promote the rematch with Strikeforce. At the two promotions’ second co-branded event on June 26 in San Jose, Calif, Werdum submitted Emelianenko with a triangle choke-armbar combination.

“For us, it makes the most sense for us to do the Werdum fight because it seems like that’s the fight that all the fans want, In Russia, 85 percent of the respondents (to a recent poll) — and that’s thousands of people – are saying that that’s the fight they want.” Kogan told Sherdog.com on Tuesday.

Despite Emelianenko’s first loss in nearly 10 years, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker told the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Beatdown” show last week that a bout between the 33-year-old Russian fighter and heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem was still a possibility.

“Once we sit down and negotiate with Strikeforce and Showtime, the next opponent will become clear in a reasonable short period of time,” said Kogan.

Emelianenko, before resuming his training, is taking a brief vacation with his family, said Kogan.

“Out of everyone following the fight, (Fedor) was the most OK, to him, I can assume it was disappointing, but everyone else seemed much more upset than he was” said Kogan of Emelianenko’s mindset.

Emelianenko’s return to the Strikeforce cage will depend on upcoming discussions, like in early 2010. M-1 Global engaged in renegotiations with Strikeforce, following their first co-promoted venture in November 2009 to revise the three-event contract both had signed that prior August.

In May, the two outlets came to a new agreement, and Kogan said that since then, relations between M-1 and Strikeforce have never been better. Showtime’s inclusion in negotiations has paved an easier path for all, added Kogan. For Strikeforce, the premium-pay cable network is the U.S. broadcast partner.

When the coveted former Pride FC champion briefly became a free agent following the collapse of Affliction Entertainment and the cancellation of its Aug. 1 event, UFC President Dana White was among Emelianenko’s suitors that are more vocal last year. Emelianenko went instead with Strikeforce, White still vowed to sign the fighter with a 26-fight win streak, even after Emelianenko turned down a multi-fight, seven-figure exclusive deal with the UFC.

For White’s recent remarks, Kogan had no comment. He confirmed that M-1 Global does not have the legal flexibility to negotiate with other promotions at this time and said, “Nor do we want to.”

“Following June 26, we have unfinished business, we would like to deal with the loss. We do not want to negotiate with others. We’re happy with our partners,” said Kogan.

Fabricio Werdum will face the sport’s most accomplished heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko but the former is confident of his abilities and strength and hopes to wipe away the considerable mystique left the scales without a hiccup.

Fedor Emelianenko, former Pride Fighting Championships heavyweight titleholder checked in at 229 pounds for his showdown. On Saturday at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif, the bout will take place. At Friday’s official weigh-in, Fabricio Werdum (238.5), meanwhile, underdog challenger, Jan Finney (143.5) and Strikeforce women’s middleweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos (144.5) were also made weight without incident in official weigh-in.

To make official their rematch, which follows Smith’s shocking come-from-behind win last December, middleweight Cung Le and Scott Smith will try to register 185 pounds

Since August 2004 duel with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, which ended in a no contest, Emelianenko has rattled off 11 consecutive wins. In November, the stoic 33-year-old Russian had last appeared. Unbeaten Brett Rogers on second-round strikes in his ballyhooed promotional debut for Strikeforce was stopped by Fedor. Wins over former champions Tim Sylvia, Mark Coleman (twice), Andrei Arlovski, Kevin Randleman, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, Renato “Babalu” Sobral and Matt Lindland. Among his 31 career wins, he has 21 first-round finishes.

Werdum, in 18 professional bouts has been finished only once. He is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu and a black belt in judo. Since he outpointed former EliteXC heavyweight champion Antonio Silva, the 32-year-old has not fought, though in the last match he won by unanimous decision, but it was six months ago. Werdum holds submission victories over Emelianenko’s younger brother, Aleksander Emelianenko. He is also reined over Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem by submission victories. He is a two-time winner of the Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championships.

During a Friday teleconference call touting, Fedor Emelianenko had some strong criticisms for the UFC in his June 26 bout against Fabricio Werdum at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

The stoic fighter predictably gave credence to his own affair when he was asked which upcoming heavyweight bout between UFC 116’s Brock Lesnar-Shane Carwin and his own fight against Werdum had more relevance. While doing it, Emelianenko dropped an eye-opening remark.

“I think both fights are very important because you’ve got basically four world-class heavyweights in the top 10 of their sport, but I’m not a UFC fan, So, I would invite all the fans to watch our fight that I believe is more important because we’re not in the UFC.” said Emelianenko.

He, the most sought-after fighter in the sport, did not approve of the world’s No. 1 promotion. When asked, he said, it was a combination of how its fighters carried themselves and how the UFC presented its events.

“What I meant to say was, I’m not a fan of watching their fights, compared to a lot of the commercials, promotion and anticipation of their fights and compared to a lot of the shows that I’ve seen, there seems to be a negativity involved in a lot of their shows, so I’m just not a fan of watching their programs. I think the combination (of presentation and fighter attitude) — in some ways how the fights are presented and the manner they’re presented and also in some ways the actions and behavior of a lot of the fighters from the UFC — it takes away from the sport”, said Emelianenko.

With the UFC last summer, Emelianenko was offered a multi-fight, seven-figure contract, but he declined the offer. With Strikeforce, Emelianenko went on to sign to co-promote with M-1 Global management.
