UFC 120 – Condit pips Kampmann
At UFC 120 in England, to Martin Kampmann, the “Natural Born Killer” Carlos Condit has been preferred as Dan Hardy’s next opponent.
Both of whom are riding two-fight win streaks and the UFC was locked in a fifty-fifty decision between Condit and Kampmann. As expected, the decision has been made to opt for Condit. For British MMA fans on October 16, he has been offered the likelihood of a stand-up battle.
For the start of August, Hardy has confirmed he will return to Team Rough House in England in order to begin his training camp, although the bout has not been signed yet. Therefore, a deal will be signed before “The Outlaw” leaves the US.
Since Hardy’s defeat to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 111, he has been on a crash course in wrestling. Since entering the UFC, it is his first loss in five fights. In the Briton’s last appearance in England, for three rounds, fans saw him school Mike Swick. Against Condit, if he repeats the same then it would cement his place at the top end of the welterweight food chain.
Condit was seven seconds away from losing that fight to MacDonald, although he enters as the form fighter after wins over Jake Ellenberger and Rory MacDonald. The former WEC welterweight champion is backed by the highly respected gym of Greg Jackson and he loves to keep the fight upright.
